Today, as I write this blog, the hearts of true Americans are with the people of Uvalde, Texas. The horrendous action of murdering 19 children and 2 teachers at an elementary school is truly an act of evil. Our hearts and our prayers are with the families of all those involved.
As I read the news, it became evident that this tragedy would once again evolve into a political showdown instead of focusing on the real issues at hand. The real problem is simply this. We, as a nation, must turn back to God. America was founded on the principles of God’s Word. Our problem is not evil. Since man’s sin in the Garden of Eden, evil reigns in the hearts of men. Sinful men will always do wicked deeds. It is the reason that Scripture says:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

Christ’s teaching clearly states the following.
“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:” (Matthew 15:18–19)

Thus, the issue of sinful men committing evil acts is a problem that has long plagued man. Unfortunately, this reality is here to stay until Christ establishes His Kingdom on earth. For that reason, the problem is not evil. The problem is our refusal to do things God’s way.
Over the next few days, politicians will clamor for more gun control. The debate will rage on social media. Both liberals and conservatives will tout all kinds of arguments. However, all will completely ignore the real heart of the matter. We, as Americans, have completely abandoned God and His Word. Our decline began when we officially removed God’s Word from our public school systems. The Bible is the one Book that taught sinful men about a great God who loves them and provides salvation from sin for them.
In God’s Word, we know about our responsibility to deal with wickedness and evil. Additionally, in Scripture, we learn the degree to which wicked men progress. Part of God’s solution is the government’s protection of its citizens. God has a clear mandate that whoever sheds the blood of an innocent person that his blood is shed as well. (Genesis 9:6) We have abandoned this mandate in modern American society. It seems men now know better than God. Yet, sin has ever increased since the day we removed Bibles from our public schools. We witness the murder of innocent children in the womb, and we also see the mass murder of innocent children in our schools.
There is only one solution to this problem. We must return to God. Our government needs to take up the sobering mantle of the death penalty once again. Our public school boards need to put Bible back into the schools. Our people must learn that there is a better way to handle wickedness. There is no better way than God’s way. Now, it is not a time to cry out for more gun control. No, now is a time to cry for repentance and a return to God. It is time for America to put its trust back in God. Our forefathers understood this well. They also knew that we, the people, were the key to ensuring that the government did its job. Therefore, it falls upon us to elect leaders who fear God and have the backbone to take us back to Him. Until we do and demand that the government do things God’s way, the shedding of innocent blood will only increase.
For now, we mourn. However, many have asked how long must this go on before something is done. It will go on until we, as Americans, turn back to God or until Christ comes to judge this world. If you want things to change, step up and do the right thing. Use the upcoming election as an opportunity to remove the wicked from office and help put men and women who will do things God’s way.
